Casa Adelita

Casa Adelita was built in the late 18th century, when San Miguel de Allende was still called San Miguel El Grande, this city served later as a setting for the War of Independence of 1810. At that time, Casa Adelita boasted a larger expanse of land, encompassing a charming courtyard with orange trees and gardens. Remarkably, beneath these grounds, tunnels were constructed, serving as a refuge to the churches during times of persecution (one of these tunnels is under the pool). During this time, the name of the owners is unknown. In the 19th century it became the residence of the Zavala family for several generations. It’s current owners remodeled the house to bring the systems into the current century while maintaining its colonial charm.

Casa Adelita, like many other colonial residences in San Miguel de Allende, is characterized by a facade adorned with meticulously preserved original details. Due to regulations, it is obliged to adhere to the same style, colors, finishes, and solid construction, which further enhances its historical charm.

In 1557, the city had great influence in New Spain due to its prosperous silver mines and majestic mansions. Among them, Casa Canal stands out as the most prominent and opulent, now owned by Banamex.

At that time, water from the El Chorro spring, which rises above Parque Juarez, was distributed throughout the city, especially in the famous lavaderos. The distribution was facilitated by clay pipes, which is why the opulent residences have courtyard fountains, such as Casa Adelita. For those who didn’t have direct access, San Miguel also had about 140 street fountains where people could quench their thirst.

Casa Adelita is one of the houses recognized by UNESCO, highlighting the historical and architectural heritage of the city. This exceptional property features 5 bedrooms and offers an unbeatable location, ensuring easy access to the heart of the city.

Spread over two floors this home boasts an elegant design that revolves around a charming courtyard. Here you can relax and unwind, with the added luxury of a plunge pool located next to the central sitting area.

The first floor of this residence features two inviting bedrooms that offer comfortable accommodations. Three additional bedrooms are located on the second floor, providing ample space for residents and guests.

For those seeking breathtaking views, Casa Adelita offers a covered terrace on the second floor. However, the real highlight is the open terrace on the third floor, which offers breathtaking views of the Parroquia and San Francisco Church.

The main living spaces are located on the first floor and offer comfort and functionality. You can enjoy culinary delights in the fully equipped kitchen, white the spacious dining table can comfortably seat up to ten people. After a long day you can relax in the cozy living room, which is equipped with a TV for entertainment and a handy desk when you need to take care of business..

Casa Adelita is a captivating home that harmoniously combines comfort, style and a prime location, making it the perfect choice for those seeking an exceptional living experience in San Miguel de Allende. This beautiful updated home comes turnkey furnished.
